Our [NEW BLOG!] name ;)

We've been deciding for a while that we need a new blog name.
We felt that YA Vixens was just too misleading, since we're both been reading a LOT of New Adult, and to be fair... We didn't want to have a genre specific name anymore. So, We decided to keep the Vixens name, and embark on a new adventure as: The Reading Vixens.

PLEASE Continue to follow us, over at the new blog. WE LOVE YOU ALL! You've been there for us as the YA Vixens, and we would be honored if you would re-follow us as The Reading Vixens.

Review: Keeping Never - C.M. Stunich

Keeping Never - C.M. Stunich
♥♥♥♥

Tasting Never

Keeping Never is the 3rd book in the trilogy "Never Say Never". What a great trilogy it was, at that. In the first Novel, you hear about Never's back story. In the second novel, you get more insight into Never, and you start hearing about Ty's back story. In this novel, you get FULL disclosure on Ty's past.

First off, I love Ty and Never. They're so blunt, honest and beautifully broken. Being broken only means you need to be fixed. Ty is the glue that holds Never together and Never is the heart in Ty's soul. I'm seriously addicted to the tortured couple scene.

I was in love with Ty McCabe before, but now? Now I'm head over heals infatuated with him. If he was a real person, I mean straight stalker status. I know I've said this time and time again... but Ty will go down in my TOP 5 Best Book Boyfriends EVER. And by ever, I mean I'm pretty sure he'll ever be replaced by anyone. Ty is so many things. He is tortured, Obnoxious, Unfiltered, but he is also passionate, caring, understanding and loving.

Never is just her usual basket case of messed up. Ty holds her together, keeps her strong.  As she is battling harder than ever with inner thoughts, Ty is working harder than ever to keep her safe. Just to plain old keep her. In this novel, Never is going to face the ghosts of her past. Nothing could be harder than facing everything that ruined you.

If you haven't started this series yet, I strongly recommend that you do. I won't promise you'll love it, because everyone has different taste. However, This series is amazing.  Definitely worth looking into.

C.M Stunich You are beautiful and amazing. Don't ever change! Oh, and I love your filthy mouth! Your writing is out of this world and should never be under-rated. The Tasting Never series was simply flawless. You've made this series come full circle. I can't wait to read your other novels, especially your new one, [Paint Me Beautiful]

Waiting on Wednesday #30

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly Meme hosted by Breaking The Spine

This week at YA Vixens, we are highly anticipating:

Beth's Pick:
When I first picked this, I instantly thought of Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children by Randsom Riggs. I LOVED that story, and I especially loved how the photographs tied in. This has a different premise, but I really think that the photograph tie in will be absolutely stunning.

In the Shadow of BlackbirdsIn the Shadow of Blackbirds - Cat Winters
Hardcover400 pages
Expected publication: April 2nd 2013

In 1918, the world seems on the verge of apocalypse. Americans roam the streets in gauze masks to ward off the deadly Spanish influenza, and the government ships young men to the front lines of a brutal war, creating an atmosphere of fear and confusion. Sixteen-year-old Mary Shelley Black watches as desperate mourners flock to séances and spirit photographers for comfort, but she herself has never believed in ghosts. During her bleakest moment, however, she’s forced to rethink her entire way of looking at life and death, for her first love—a boy who died in battle—returns in spirit form. But what does he want from her?

Featuring haunting archival early-twentieth-century photographs, this is a tense, romantic story set in a past that is eerily like our own time.

Kait's Pick:
I don't know how I feel about the whole "hate on the rich just because they're rich" thing, but this still seems like a good story. And by now you know I am obsessed with contemporaries.

The Distance Between Us The Distance Between Us - Kasie West

Paperback320 pages
Expected publication: July 2nd 2013

Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.

So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company.

She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

Surrender Your Love - J.C. Reed

"Tragedy may hit all of us in one way or another, but fate's not our enemy" "We are." By locking yourself away from the world, you choose your own mistakes and destroy any chance of ever finding happiness. You cannot control life, but you can choose who you are and what you make of it."

J.C. Reed you are fantastically amazing. For your first debut novel, you've DEFINITELY got a hit on your hands! You've delivered something extraordinary. I devoured this novel. I loved the story line and how you introduced the characters. The quirky and snarky comments from the characters made my night. I can't lie.. I love me some witty sarcastic banter and sexual tension. Well, Surrender Your Love has plenty of all of that!

I got this book as an ARC from the author for an honest review. However, if I'm to be completely honest, My review would be a bunch of beautiful uses of filthy words smothered together with incoherent sentences. Literally a one sitting book. Well, you might need to take a breather or two, cause there are SOME scenes. Lawd Jeebus. The build up.... and then "dkl!?fgjhlk!d4j5h!?y29sdfg" [If you're wondering, that's my I CAN'T DEAL spaz out lingo.]

New Adult has become my ultimate favorite genre. I'm not saying I've grown out of YA... but a girl likes her sexy time with her book boyfriends. I do have to say, When I started this book I was nervous about it being just like 50 Shades. BUT, yes.. BIG FAT BUT! It turned out to be NOTHING like 50. I also don't think it should be compared to 50 shades... even though it will be, over and over. It's not the same... it just has the sex theme in common.

I got completely drawn in and wrapped up in this story. I just couldn't stop. Don't let the cover fool you! There is so MUCH more to Brooke and Jett's story than it may seem. Secrets, scary pasts, lies, tragedy, love, lust, betrayal... the perfect blend to any successful story! I'm so excited to see that I only have to wait until June for the next novel. Damned cliff hanger that wasn't exactly a cliff hanger.... but yet so intense you sit back and say 'oh shit.' This can only go one of two ways.... BUT WHICH WAY!? Now i'm gonna stop rambling on and on so that you can get your paws on this RIGHT MEOW! I mean it. Seriously, Go. Read. This. MEOW.
