Hallowed - Cynthia Hand

Hallowed - Cynthia Hand
♥♥♥♥

By the end of this book, I was bawling like a baby. The emotional turmoil that these characters have to go through weighs heavy on your heart. Twisted and heartbreaking. Definitely a book that has you routing for both male characters. I'm at a loss for words, because I don't want to add a spoiler. One thing I will say... the ending of this book will blow you away.

Clara Gardner is enjoying her senior year at Jackson Hole HS. She has an almost perfect life, with her boyfriend Tucker, her best friends Wendy and Angela, and of course Christian Prescott. After the forest fire last year, Clara thought she failed her purpose... by saving Tucker. She learns that her purpose isn't exactly as straight forward as she would like it to be. Christian, Angela, Clara and her brother Jefferey end up forming an "Angel Club" to discuss anything angel.

Clara is determined to let everyone know that she has the right to chose, and that she's chosen Tucker. Even when Christian is always there, being supportive and telling her "We belong together".. and she knows and feels it just like he does. She won't give in, She loves Tucker.

One night, Clara had a nightmare. She saw herself at a cemetery. She has this nightmare over and over, and realizes that this is a vision. This is just another part of her purpose. As she tries to figure out the vision, the Black Wing Samjeeza comes back to taunt her. Staying just far enough away, but close enough for her to know he's there. He's always there.

Now struck with the horrifying reality that someone she loves dearly will die in a short time, Clara must face this knowledge, figure out her purpose and come to terms with the loss. With everything going on, Clara knows that the fire last year was just the beginning. Her future is completely uncertain. Clara must find the courage in herself, above everything.. to take rewrite her future.
